1555 Wabash is going to be on the season premier of the Do It Yourself Network’s Project Xtreme!
Originally planned to air in the spring of 2009, the show is now scheduled for February 4th, 2009!
When 1555 Wabash topped off back in September, it became attractive footage for the new TV series Project Xtreme on the DIY network.
Over the course of two 12-hour days of shooting, Matt Blashaw, host of Project Xtreme, and his production crew were given a crash course on how to top off a building by the construction crew at 1555 Wabash.
The show will feature the 14th and final floor being poured and the final columns being tied to the building, highlighting fantastic shots of the Chicago skyline and lakefront.
Project Xtreme will focus primarily on construction sites in New York early in its first season, including the painting of the Queensboro Bridge, tree cutting in Central Park and changing the lights on the Empire State Building. But the show’s producers wanted to expand to other cities, such as Chicago.

This is very exciting for Chicago, and for New West. It will be interesting to see how something like a building topping off happens!

How cool! I love seeing how things are done. And it will be especially neat to see the Chicago skyline in the background.
